TRC 16th Annual - January 12, 2019

as of: Tuesday, December 26, 2017

We have made the decision to move the TRC race to the Grand Targhee Nordic trails. The Teton Ridge Ranch trails do not have enough snow to make good classic skiing and hold an enjoyable and safe race for all. We are however, excited for everyone to try out a new course for this year. The Targhee nordic trails are beautiful and offer some great classic skiing. The long course will now be 24 km with 1425’ of elevation gain. The intermediate course will be 14.5 km with 870’ of elevation gain. This compares to the Teton Ridge Ranch course of 26 km and 1680’ of elevation gain and 13 km 840’ of elevation gain. The kid’s races at Targhee will be 6.5 km and 2 km. Detailed information including course maps will be posted on the website by January 1st. We hope that everyone will consider coming and skiing a new course for the 2018 TRC! Don’t forget Madshus will be at the stadium area on race day with their demo fleet. Please check out some of their great skis! We are looking forward to seeing everyone on January 6th.

November 1, 2017 update: The Teton Ridge Classic will be held on January 6th, 2018. For the past several years the race has been held on the 2nd Saturday in January. However, due to conflicts with a Nordic junior national qualifying event on January 13-14th, 2018 we have had to move our race to January 6th. I coach our junior Nordic team and many of the volunteers for the race will all also be at the junior event on January 13-14th.

We hope that in the future we will be able to return back to the 2nd Saturday in January as this seemed to fit well with everyone's schedule.

We are pleased to announce that Madshus will again be the title sponsor for this year's race! Madshus has been a leader in the Nordic industry for over 100 years. Look for an opportunity to check out some of their classic skis after the race on Saturday.
